This is a composition for six clarinets and one Soprano. In the Dark in inspired and based on a poem by the Iranian poet Forugh Farokhzad. This piece was originally commissioned by the Southwark Clarinet Consort in London and premiered in 2007. In the Dark later received a Canadian premeire at the University of Victoria led by Patricia Kostek.
